What’s the issue when the issue isn’t the issue?

Look at the following image. Do you see an old woman, a young woman, or two women? What you see can make all the difference in your relationship. How so? Because perception is everything. Indeed, does someone’s ability to see only one image – especially the image that you cannot see – make them a “bad” person? Is one perception more “right” than the other? Does it mean that the person who doesn’t see what you see should be vilified? If you answered no, why, then, do we do so with our partners – lovers, friends, family members, even co-workers, for that matter — when we don’t see eye-to-eye? Indeed, what do we do when the issue isn’t the issue?
